Hi everyone. The dilema I am having is that since I have become more involved in my spiritual interests and daily meditation, I am feeling increasingly detached or älien"to alot of th estuff that i am exposed to in both my work and social life. e.g. I played a gig at a hotel friday night, and just found the whole scene to be really silly and total uninteresting to me...(lots of drinking, craziness etc) Now Ive been doing this work all of my life, but im finding it harder to mange it, because I just dont want to be there. After the gig I went to a party and same thing....I just felt so out of place...nd I couldnt have a decnt chat with anyone because they were all either on something or had nothing much to say.(that I could relate to) The thing is I actulaly feel better inside than ever...but my regular lifestyle is looking rather dull, redundant and pointless.
Im not saying im turning into a monk....but im more interested now in the feelings I have found through deep meditation, and speaking with others who relate. Is this change? Any feedback would be helpful |

Hello Geoffrey W
I understand how you are feeling. Through our spirituality and regular meditation there are so many subtle changes that can occur, depending on what direction you have come from and how far you have travelled through your meditation...... that all of a sudden it seems that you suddenly come aware of so many changes that put together make something very significant. Some real dramatic change.
You feel like a new soul reborn or as you say, completely different to everyone around you. And this can happen to someone again and again as you open yourself to your meditation.
My advice to you would be to continue your meditation. It makes you feel great inside, as youve said. I feel that it also changes us to view things from outside the box, or a different way of viewing the same thing.
I also found, most importantly is that mediation stimulates positive energy and you will find that your life changes as well. With some patience you will find that new people will befriend you, they may take you into different positive directions and like magic - you will find your life will change into a more positive direction. So don't fret too much about your surroundings, with some patience watch as they change for you.
I don't know what meditative type you are using, but I would also allow youself to be open to many techniques. http://www.freemeditations.com/ is a good website that Ive used and some of my friends have found excellent. Best of luck on your travels. Xander Wolf. |

Hey t6hanks for that,
Its funny how you can influence others without a word when your energy is good..ive noticed that.
I went through a period of loosing my meditative practice, and things went off the rails a little...well when I say a little I mean a realtionship I had didnt work out. While I was meditating and visualising on it, it was fantastic, but as soon as I slipped back into old habits (which I wont mention!) and ceased parcticing my energy went weak and stale...and what young woman wants to be around that?
Anyway the good news is that Im back into it, and understanding more and more how having healthy strong energy is powerfu and helpful to others around me. The form of meditation I practice is stilnness meditation
for optmal mental health and relaxation, often followed by a sesion of creative visualisation when my mind is quiet and I can focus.
Thanks again for your comments I got alot from them. |

Hey, thanks for replying to my message.
I know what you mean as I guess that I have done that same thing myself and learnt the hard way. My life has sometimes been a bit too hectic and so has impacted on my daily meditation and completely unravelled my sense of peace. LOL.
Glad to see that you are back in practice with it. Once you have it back, its like a long lost friend. I know how hard it can be to have a girlfriend and the best free time to do your meditation contradicts with her idea of what she wants to do, & then other times you have 5 mins to yourself and only that & you feel rushed and not comfortably settled into meditation.
During these moments, I meditate with exercise. I exercise at home with my own gym/ exercise bike. I find that meditating while using the bike can require a bit of concentration and focus but if you can manage that, you will find that you can focus completely without any influences and the endorphins in your blood create a tranquil and peaceful happiness and you don't feel any pain. It too can be an exilherating experience, and your girlfriend won't feel so threatened about another obstacle in your life. LOL.
Anyway I find meditation fascinating. What got me involved with it, was that I saw a documentary on a woman with cancer. She was tibetan and so went to her local monks who chanted and chanted for a while, over several days. She had an agressive tumour and was not expected to live, but the chanting eventually dissolved the tumour completely away. There was this story but so many other stories about healing. The documentary mentioned how easily our lives play against us, we have negativity surrounding us on a daily basis and this alone is enough to make us sick.
Only meditation seems to get rid of this for us in such a grand scale that we can calm ourselves and see things more clearly and instead of trying to deal with negativity headon, we pass through it instead & it doesn't affect us.
Strong energy not only is good for us, but it provides a good energy to allow good things to surround us too. Keep it up.
